I've got my 1st "proper" job and need a "proper" car to get there and back, its only 13 miles from home so not a long commute. I currently have a 2001 Vauxhall Corsa but it's looking tired now and is nearly 10 years old.
My Corsa has been really good to me and the local Vauxhall franchise has treated me well, so I am going to go for another Corsa. The only problem I'm having at the moment is deciding whether to go for a new one or a used one.
I've seen a Vauxhall Corsa offer for a new 1.0 litre 3 door S for £7,495, the 5 door version comes in at £7,895, I prefer the 3 door and don't need the extra doors. The Corsa S comes as standard with electric windows and an MP3 player. It can do 61mpg and falls in group 1 insurance, its low emissions mean road tax is only £30 for the year.
At the same time I have been looking at some used models, I could get a 2007 Corsa 1.0i 12v Life for £3,495 which is almost half the price for a 3 year old Corsa. MINI Charity Auction
The MINI's 50th Birthday was celebrated in style at Silverstone, with mod rock legend Paul Weller headlining the event. Continuing the partnership Paul Weller has collaborated with MINI to create a one off car which will be sold in a live global online auction with all proceeds going to charity.
The car will be auctioned for one month from 11 November to raise money for charities Nordoff Robins and War Child. The unique MINI Cooper is the ultimate British icon, it was designed by Paul Weller, built in Oxford and hand-painted by MINI craftsmen.
The original car is a 2009 MINI Copper, with 17'' Crown Spoke Alloys, black leather upholstery, Bluetooth, front heated seats, and Chilli Pack. Paul Weller's influence comes in the form of bold pink and brown stripes across the car's entire body and is finished with a single silver line running up the bonnet and over the roof.
Jochen Goller, UK Director for MINI said, "Both MINI and Paul Weller are synonymous with the quintessential British mod scene. That's why we were the ideal match to create this unique car."
Paul Weller said: "I've always loved and driven MINIs so when I was given the opportunity to design a bespoke Mini Cooper I wanted to create something that reflected the mood and colours associated with the Mod era, which was also the classic Mini's heyday. lexmark z510 printer.
